Clean up Unwanted Objects In AutoCAD 2010
I'm new to 3d modeling and learning through this site, could you please help as I can't seem to get to trim an object. For example if I draw a circle and then put a line through the centre (both on the same UCS) I can't trim it so I have only half a circle which in 2D I would have.
Could you point me in the right direction.
Thank you
The only reason of your problem is your objects may not be on the same surface. (I mean their Z values may differ)
Please make sure your circle and line have same Z values. You can verify this by making a simple example. Draw a line then draw a circle by using your line's midpoint as center point of circle. then try to trim this two objects.
I have a drawing which has obviously a wrong orientation. It is a building in 3D but drawn in the XZ-plane and Y as the hight. I have to bring this back to the correct coordinate system as you described in this article (XY is the groundplane and Z for heights).
Can you explain me how I realize this?
Thanks in advance.

I am using autoCAD 2008. I have a confusion about trim command when work with 3D. Many times i tried to trim a 3D object which intersecting other one in some angle. I could not do that and i am getting a a message that the particular object cant be trimmed. I used project command and tried all the options i knew. Could any one please help me to resolve my problem?

i am using autoCAD 2009 and i am trying to use the move function in elevation mode but it only moves horizontally. i want to move up and down. i used to be able to do this with 2005 but now it doesnt seem to work. can anyone help?
thank you,
Irene
Use UCS [ENTER] X [ENTER] 90 [ENTER] command. And try to move it again :)
thank you so much, it worked. does this mean i have to do this each time? why does this happen? my colleagues are able to use the move function on their computers.
i read all ur 3D tutorials.they ar soo easy to understanding. When the basic things get correctly others aare easy to do.thank you very much Mr.Toker.
